Tips for Teachers

Most Luckman Gallery exhibitions are suitable for students of all ages.  In order for us to best serve your group, we require that you make reservations to view the exhibition.

To assist teachers of K-12 students that wish to attend the exhibition, the Luckman has Study Guides available for many of its exhibitions.  These offer descriptions of the works in the exhibition, the curator's premise, and a review of pertinent techniques and concepts involved in the exhibition.  The Study Guides also provide suggestions and preparatory instructions for exhibition-related activities and lessons.

K-12 teachers, college professors, and administrators of adult groups may also arrange special visits to the gallery which include a tour of the exhibition by an arts educator, plus related discussions of artworks as well as issues and themes related to the exhibition.  Hands-on art workshops related to themes and techniques in the exhibition may also be available.

Please contact the gallery at tel. (323) 343-6604 or luckmangallery@luckmanarts.org to make a reservation, request a Study Guide, and/or to schedule a tour or workshop.

Group Visits

To serve you better, we require groups of 8 or more individuals to make reservations to view and/or tour an exhibition.  Please contact the gallery at tel. (323) 343-6604 or luckmangallery@luckmanarts.org to make a reservation.

Submission of Materials

The Luckman Gallery welcomes submissions from artists and curators to be considered for exhibition.  In general, exhibitions are planned two years in advance and are selected at the discretion of the Gallery Director and Executive Director of the Luckman Fine Arts Complex.

Preferred materials are slides, digital and photographic prints, and/or compact discs.  Please include a cover letter and biography.  Do not send original or valuable materials.

Submissions MUST include a self-addressed stamped envelope for return if return is required.

Please note that any unsolicited materials submitted shall be done so at the risk of the sender.  The Gallery is not responsible for the return, loss or damage to unsolicited materials.

Mail List

The Luckman Gallery sends advance announcements of its exhibitions and programs, and welcomes requests for inclusion on its mail and email lists.  Please email your request to luckmangallery@luckmanarts.org.
